In Central Europe are only buses with rear engine on the road, so I came to buses with mid-engine. Unfortunately, according to my research, there are only in Scandinavia. That's how I found your forum.

Welcome "aufundavon". In Finland we have lot of mid engine coaches for sale. B10M is one of the most common bus undercarriage in Scandinavia and Baltia. So spare parts are easy to find and prices are reasonable.

The space behind rear axle in a 12m B10M or B12M may be too short for a big motorcycle, unless they fit sideways. Many mid engine busses are over 12m long, many even 13,8m with only two axles, be carefull when choosing. A doppeldecker bus could also be an option for transporting motorcycles.

Here is a little bit longer rear overhang for the motorcycle. The bus is way over 12m and the wheelbase is also extended - Nice ride :)

Only a few years ago, Switzerland adapted the registration conditions for vehicles to European regulations. There were only 12m buses possible until then. In how far the new regulation also applies to older buses with over 12m, I have not been able to find out.
A double-decker bus is not really to me with 1.95m to choose from ......

That Astral looks perfect for transporting motorcycles. Upper deck may or may not have enough height for 195cm person, but if not you could lower the floor. But think carefully, is 13m too hard to fit in towns and camp grounds in your mountaineous country? I assume over 12m vehicle requires a bus driver's licence there too, 12m can be driven with a truck licence.

In Switzerland, the registered seats (9 + 1, EU are 8 + 1) are decisive for class C. The surplus seats are expelled, removed. :)
The fact that campsites in central Europe are indeed a problem, they are not really set to vehicles over 8 meters.
